[Radio] RTTY Library for Arduino

This is an library that handles radio information over RTTY in arduino, written in C++. You can choose either ascii 7 bit or ascii 8 bit. You need two pins that you define with RTTY.attach(1,2); and you send your information just by stating “RTTY.tx(“Hello world!”);
I have tested this code parsing GPS information with the Arduino Mega, Arduino Pro Mini 8MHz, Arduino Duemilenova, Arduino Uno, Seeduino Stalker v2.0.

Download Library

Place the library in your “Arduino/Libraries” folder, restart the Arduino app and you’re good to go (you can then find it at the examples section as well).

    im trying to use your library on arduino 1.0.5, when compile have RTTY.h:33:22: error: WProgram.h: No such file or directory

    may be a new arduino version¿?

    The code in the example doesnt compile, i just get error:

    RTTY.pde: In function ‘void setup()’:
    RTTY:6: error: ‘RTTY’ was not declared in this scope
    RTTY.pde: In function ‘void loop()’:
    RTTY:11: error: ‘RTTY’ was not declared in this scope

    Has there been any changes?

    Dear Tim,
    I’ve heavily impressed with the work. Made some mod to get output from a single pin with audio tone for AFSK operation. But the problem is RTTY.tx(“Hello World!”) takes only Quoted strings, but can it take data from variable? So that the GPS can send ASCII text to serial and serial can keep it and then that will be converted to RTTY.

    I need to work with variables…

    Also I intend to connect the receiver’s audio output to this http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/usb-video-and-audio-grabber-a07jr so I can have the signal on my PC and decode it with a software. I’m a novice does it seem possible to you ?

    (This is for my class project we’re making a flying drone that transmit informations to the ground)

    I’m trying to connect arduino to a VHF Mic-In radio, (Wouxun for example) i’m tryng to put the 2 exit to mic-in and ground to gound of arduino ….

    Hi there,

    does this LIB create a Audio Output? I loaded it up for a test, but all i hear when i Connect a Speaker to the 2 pins (in the “incoming” speaker-cable) and GND (on the “outgoing” speakercable) is a rel. monoton “BZZZZZZZZZ”…. When i try to decode this with a RTTY-Software it gives me only dreck…

    Would nice if we could communicate about that.
